Throughout the month of February,
The PGA of America's Jobs in Golf Month program will link employers
in the golf industry with potential employees via The PGA's online
Employment Center * PGA.com/employment. The PGA officially
kicked-off its fifth annual National Jobs in Golf Month during last
month's PGA Merchandise Show (January 26 - 29).
Geared towards both employers and
jobseekers, the Employment Center serves as a clearinghouse of
complimentary employment services and is available online at
www.PGA.com/employment. Through the site, employers can access nine
region-specific career consultants or add job-postings to hire
candidates interested in working in positions throughout the golf
industry. In addition, Jobseekers can post resumes and have access
to posted employment opportunities for over 300 positions.
"Last year's annual Jobs in Golf
Month program generated more than 282 new golf job postings
resulting in 72,648 hits to the Web site and nearly 290 new resumes
posted for employers throughout the industry to view," said Roger
Warren, president of The PGA of America. "Jobs in Golf Month is an
outstanding example of an initiative created by The PGA of America
to increase access to those interested in the golf industry.
Whether you are a seasoned PGA Professional or new to the game, the
PGA's Jobs in Golf Month campaign is a terrific opportunity to
connect employers and jobseekers throughout the industry."
During Jobs in Golf Month,
employers seeking to fill positions ranging from General Manager to
caddie master can begin their search for candidates at PGA.com/employment.
Employers can take advantage of the many employment services The PGA
of America provides on a complimentary basis, including a job
posting board or utilizing PGA Regional Employment Consultants to
assist in finding qualified candidates that will meet the needs of
the employer.
Jobseekers looking to work in the
golf industry can search the job database at PGAjobfinder, which is
a subset of The PGA Employment Center. PGAjobfinder allows the
general golfing public the opportunity to post resumes applying for
work at golf courses and search for other jobs throughout the golf
industry.
The PGA also offers CareerLinks, a
complimentary employment referral service with nine regional PGA
Employment Consultants based throughout the country to provide
support to employers and PGA Professionals. Other employment
services include CareerNet, which offers PGA Professionals an online
way to seek out and hire assistant professionals, teaching
professionals and other PGA Professional support staff. The PGA also
retains the services of a wage-and-hour consultant to help PGA
Professionals and employers interpret labor laws and wage-and-hour
information.
