Argosy Legacy Championship

Former Dayton Country Club Head Professional Wins

The 6,302-yard, par 70 layout at Dayton Country Club yielded several low scores on Monday for the Southern Ohio PGA Section's Argosy Legacy Championship.  Despite the light rain, the course was in perfect shape for the 72 professionals in the field.  The tightly tree-lined fairways of Dayton Country Club played significantly longer due to the wet conditions, and ball striking was a again a premium.

Dave Bahr, the current head professional at Maketewah Country Club and former head professional at Dayton Country Club, displayed his local knowledge of the course firing at 4-under par 66 to claim medalist honors.  Bahr was able to survive the elements and edge out three-time PGA Club Professional of the Year Bob Sowards by one stroke to claim the $1,200 first place prize money.  Also posting rounds under par were Paul Hollenbaugh of New Albany Country Club with 68 and Sam Arnold of The Vineyard with a one-under par 69.

The Southern Ohio PGA Section would like to thank Argosy Gaming Company for their contribution of $4,500 to the event purse.  We would also like to thank the entire staff and membership at Dayton Country Club for hosting this event.  Congratulations to Dave Bahr, the 2006 Argosy Legacy Champion.  Please be sure to visit the Southern Ohio PGA Website at http://southernohio.pga.com for complete event results and pictures from the Argosy Legacy Championship.
